La obra que aquí se presenta, coordinada por el profesor de la UCM Juan Carlos Marcos Recio y escrita en colaboración con reconocidos expertos en este campo del conocimiento, supone un paso muy importante en cuanto a la identificación, descripción y accesibilidad de los fondos documentales generados o recogidos por los medios de comunicación españoles. Estamos ante un trabajo que abre caminos, no sólo porque descubre para muchos unos materiales valiosísimos e ingentes, sino porque, además, hace fácil y diáfana su comprensión, enseña las fuentes y muestra cómo acceder a ellas. Y lo realiza desde el rigor y la exhaustividad, atributos que en muchas ocasiones son complicados de conciliar con la claridad expositiva.
