Cybermetric Analysis of Five Emergents Journals of Communication in its First Two Years Online: 'Revista Mediterránea de Comunicación'; 'Fonseca, Journal of Communication'; 'Miguel Hernández Communication Journal', 'Revista Pangea' and 'Fotocinema'

This paper presents a descriptive analysis of the visibility of five emergents scientific journals about Communication, in its first two years online: Revista Mediterránea de Comunicación; Fonseca, Journal of Communication; Miguel Hernández Comnunication Journal, Revista Pangea y Fotocinema; all driven since 2010 thanks to a project prepared by Sociedad Latina de Comunicación Social (SLCS). The methodology is based on an analysis of cybermetric indicators that record the internal communication from of the authors and identify their visibility to four criteria: gender, nationality, academic degree and institution of affiliation of the authors of each publication. It generally aims to reflect about the role of science journals and the need for the emergence, development and growth of the same. Results are expected to open the debate on the importance that in its short life are these publications in the training of novice teachers and researchers, who find in emergent journals an open dialogue space scientist for their contributions.Metrics
