La obra de Lozano, Sánchez Calero y Morales analiza el modo que tienen los principales telediarios españoles de comunicar catástrofes naturales. Para ello, se realiza un estudio empírico de 220 piezas informativas tomadas de TVE, Cuatro y Antena 3, que abarca desde el periodo estival de 2013 hasta el de 2014. El análisis se apoya también en un grupo de discusión que aporta una visión objetiva al estudio y en un grupo de periodistas que reflejan su realidad de trabajo diaria.
